How to Employ Yourself - 3 Simple Steps to Self Discipline

Building a business can be so much fun, it can be one of the most rewarding things that one can do. It can bring so much joy and fulfillment to one's life. The rewards of having a thriving business can be so huge, traveling, spending quality and quantity time with loved ones, helping those in our circle that may be going through some kind of financial trouble.

All of these things are what makes you want to build a huge business but you know something? Unless you learn how to discipline yourself and your time, you can really be fooling yourself. There comes a time where you must face the fact that those who enjoy these kind of lifestyles all are very disciplined and have been disciplined for a consistent period of time.

None of these rewarding experiences come before discipline. Knowing how to discipline yourself and your time is the starting point of all joy and fulfillment in business.

Today, I want to share 3 simple steps on how to really get focused and get things done. Make sure you print this out or take some notes because your happiness is found in your disciplines.

Step 1) Get up early and get some physical exercise in:

You may say to yourself.. This guy is an idiot, what in the world does exercise have to do with building my business and why in the world do I have to get up early for? After all, I am my own BOSS...

Well my friend let me enlighten you with a phrase that was drilled into my mind by a mentor who has earned over $100,000 a month for over 12 years.

"How you do one thing is how you do everything"

When you wake up early, you feel different, have you ever paid attention to those of generations past? My grandparents would get up at 4 am they lived to be close to 100 years old. For some reason, generations have started waking up later and later. I know a person who wakes up at 11am, what in the world is that all about. The saying "The early bird gets the worm" was made up for a reason.

Let me share something that an ex Navy SEAL shared with me as well in regards to this point, he said "Jump out of bed and immediately make your bed" He said that that you want to get your mind used to accomplishing something right away and making your bed can be a goal that we can all accomplish early in the day.

Step 2) Treat yourself as an employee of your corporation:

When you shift your mind from I'm the boss and I can do whatever I want to I'm an employee and the boss is watching, you will get twice as much done. When I say treat yourself as an employee, I mean just that. Watch your breaks. Remember as an employee, you get 2 10 minute breaks and an hour lunch so don't steal from the company.

As an employee, you get 1 vacation per year.. So stop going to Vegas every weekend. ;) As an employee you have a time to clock in and a time to clock out so follow the rules.

Step 3) Work over time for 7 weeks straight:

For the first 7 weeks of your newly found role, work 6 days a week 10 hours a day. You will thank me for this, I promise. I'm not sure why people are attracted to 5 day weeks and 8 hour shifts.

Remember that if you are building something that you are passionate about, your work will feel like play time most of the time. Another thing, if you work from home, please share this with your spouse and children so they understand and will allow you time to work.

I feel that they shouldn't have a problem with it, after all if you worked for someone else, they would just have to deal with it.

I know that if you follow these simple steps, your business will grow like wildfire over the next 3 months.

Until next time.
